Mental Health and Me - Faces, Spaces and Places
Mental Health & Me Writing Competition
TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNER OF MENTAL HEALTH AND ME
DEADLINE: 7th SEPTEMBER!
Writing on the Wall and the Liverpool Mental Health Consortium are proud to announce that the Coral's Bill Ryder-Jones will appear at the Mental Health and Me Celebration event to announce the overall winner of the competition, present the prizes and talk to us about his own personal struggles with his mental health.
Bill believes that being upfront about his mental health has been a positive thing and that there’s a catharsis in creativity. Bill has talked and written about his depression and agoraphobia frankly and has come to the realisation, as he sings in ‘Two To Birkenhead’, that “you only hate the things you think you are.”
To celebrate Bill Ryder-Jones appearance at the Mental Health and Me Celebration, we are extending the deadline of the competition to the 7th September. This is your opportunity to become a published writer and have your voice heard. Remember there are three categories to enter - 'Faces', 'Places' and 'Spaces.' Why not write a letter to a loved one who has been your rock? Or send us a blog entry on your favourite place and why it makes you happy to go there? Or you could send us a poem on your a space that makes you stressed. It's entirely up to you!
