This exciting new anthology presents poetry, scripts, short stories and essays on childhood, motherhood, loneliness, identity, borders and what it means to cross them. These self-reflective and investigative writings draw us in and examine what it means to move forward when the world is standing still. Written by participants on Writing on the Wall’s latest professional and creative writing development course Moving Foreword.
Moving Foreword worked with Liverpool’s next generation of freelance writers and artists, to develop their creative and professional writing across many artforms whilst providing the necessary practical support, community connections and industry knowledge.
The course moved online in April and was successfully delivered through interactive Zoom workshops, allowing the writers and artist to continue despite lockdown. This ambitious course also provided one-to-one mentoring support for every participant with a guest facilitator of their choice, allowing for more specific support and guidance.
Working with professionals from Liverpool and the North West such as Professor Ailsa Cox, Emy Onuora, Deborah Morgan, Amy Roberts, Matt Cook, Laura Brown, Cheryl Martin, Margy Mcshane as well as organisations like One September, 20 Stories High, Double Negative, The Women’s Organisation and Curious Minds.
