Jewish Threads

Wednesday 13th May

Liverpool-based author Anita Canter Threads of My Life, Tailors on Both Sides and Mancunian Charlotte Gringras The Purple Rose, Not in Our Hands read from their books and discuss with their publisher, Helen Sandler from Tollington Press, how their Jewish identity underpins both memoir and fiction in their work.

Anita's latest memoir is Threads of My Life, which brings together memories of her Copenhagen childhood with insights gained in her work as a psychotherapist. Her previous book, Tailors on Both Sides, recounted the rescue of the Danish Jews by their fellow citizens during the Holocaust. Charlotte's new novel, Not in Our Hands, is an engaging coming-of-age tale set in Umbria. She is also the author of The Purple Rose, about three generations of feisty Jewish women.
