Writing on the Wallare proud to present the book launch of Union Writes, an anthology showcasing eleven talented new Liverpool based writers, from our second innovative Write for Work programme.
Union Writesis a captivating collection of stories, poems, reviews and observations. From the humorous to the poignant, this book is a celebration of new talent, showcasing the writing skills our writers have developed during the project. There’s something for everyone – from articles to blogs, podcasting and poetry. Masterclasses were delivered from the likes ofWelsh Author of the Year Manon Steffan Ros, Guardian journalist Lynsey Hanley, iconic dub poet Levi Tafari and Liverpool’s own cultural magazine The Double Negative.
The Write for Work programme is a dynamic initiative that supports participants to develop and strengthen their writing skills for the workplace and beyond.Write for Work has a track record for increasing participant knowledge and ability, but it also improves confidence and aspiration, promotes teamwork and independent working and diversifies skills and writing development. We are proud to work once again alongside Unite the Union expanding our shared vision of this innovative programme, by introducing two weekend residential writing retreats.
