Superheroes of Slam

On 7th October 2015, Writing on the Wall was proud to host Superheroes of Slam - The Quest for the Ultimate Slam Poet, in partnership with Commonword at Leaf Cafe on Bold Street.

We had a fantastic evening watching all 12 very talented and brave audience members, some whom were writers, rappers and poets, others were there as they wanted to try something new, took to the stage to perform their work in hope of taking home the Liverpool Crown. Congratulations to the winner, Raven Maguire.

A big thank you to our vibrant and full of life - as always, host, Curtis Watt and to our talented judges who helped make the evening such a success including:

Jennifer John, Artistic Director of Sense of Sound, Singer in Killerfernandez, Vocal coach and Songwriter.

Yaw Owusu - Curator of LIMF Festival,  Artist Manager at The Playmaker Group and Creative Director at Nothin But The Music.

Daniel BlueSaint - Poetry Society’s Slambassadors winner, Merseyrail Soundstation winner, MOBO nominee, upcoming EP ‘Sociation’ out soon

The grand final champion (https://goo.gl/TzSSZI) will receive £250 and an Arvon week of their choice in 2016 (subject to availability).
