Date: 3rd October
Time: 6.00pm – 8.00pm
During Liverpool's Mental Health Festival, we will be launching an exciting 10-week course in sound design with composer Patrick Dineen. Participants will work with Patrick to create an imaginary world with sound, using modern digital technology techniques. The project will explore sampling, field recording and studio production. All participants will have the opportunity to create a ‘district’ of their own in our imaginary city of sound. The project will also consider the definition of self and psychological wellbeing in relation to the psychologically repressive and ‘unhealthy’ world in which we live. ‘Being heard’ will be a key theme.
Get involved and see how much you can say with sound!
The final creation will be a sound installation piece which will have a public ‘unveiling’ on Mon 16th
January 2017, otherwise known as ‘Blue Monday’ - the so-called ‘most miserable day of the year’. It will also be available on SoundCloud.
Places are limited to 12 so please register early and remember you must be committed to attending the full 10-week course!
