What is 'What's Your Story?'

What’s Your Story? is a creative writing project set up by WoW to connect individuals and communities, developing opportunities for self-expression, using group-work and dedicated time to ensure accessibility and collective encouragement for members of communities who often feel excluded from traditional writing activties and provides a way for individuals to overcome barriers to employment, formal learning and community engagement, and to develop practical skills, confidence and aspiration.
The aim of the What’s Your Story? project is to support personal development through creative writing and story-telling, with a view to overcoming personal isolation, increasing confidence and preparing learners for more formal learning, employment training and employment. The session workshop programme offers the opportunity to engage with others, as well creative activities for self-expression and reflection.

All projects end with a celebration event where the participants have an opportunity to perform their work as well as getting their work printed and published.

We have held five courses so far and have recently launched our latest What's Your Story? course aiming at unemployed people in Merseyside.
