In Manchester, musical director Chris Mellor held creative arts workshops with The Stroke Association and stroke survivors. The group created work based on their life stories and showcasing that there is life after stroke through creative writing and performance skills. Their work has been published, and was launched on 11th December at City Labs. You can get your online copy here.
"We were given the opportunity to set up a writing group with Writing on the Wall to work with ten wonderful Stroke Survivors and three carers. The work that project leader Chris Mellor has done with us all is simply fantastic, I know they have all enjoyed attending each week. They shared some really personal events, including their stroke journey, and made friends with each other. There’s never been a week gone by where laughter cannot be heard from the room. It’s been a pleasure and an honour to work alongside and with such wonderful people."
