PublishingFor a writer there is nothing more exciting than seeing your work published for the first time.
Writing on the Wall wants to get writers excited by publishing as much high-quality work as we can. Liverpool, Merseyside and the North-West are areas teeming with stories, and people with something to say through short fiction, poetry, novels, memoirs, stage-plays, screenplays, stories for the big screen and flash fiction for the moment. We can give a voice to these stories if you’re willing to put in the work to tell them. We have published new writers through our projects – ‘What’s Your story?’, Write to Work, and Pulp Idol; old writers and lost voices through our George Garrett and Great War to Race Riots Heritage Projects; young voices in our Superheroes: Words Are Our Power school-based literacy project, and many more, including Stroke Survivors, Mental health Survivors, LGBTQ+ with Liverpool Pride, Granby Stories, and some local memoirs.
We can offer a full publishing service from start to finish: advice on writing, editing, proof reading, layout, design, ISBN number, print, delivery and distribution. We can also offer advice or even organise your book launch.
I wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the team. I was delighted to be a part of it, and got so many lovely comments on my work. Already, Writing on the Wall is helping to launch my writing career - Ariel Kahn, Runner Up of Pulp Idol 2018
It has been an absolute life changer for me, and I know there are loads more people in the area who would benefit from the programme - Susan England, Write to Work participant
'Have you seen the book? It’s a cracker! I found the process really challenging and interesting; some weeks we’d laugh and be crying the next. There was so many people involved in this project, and we got to meet the grandchildren and I really feel that was such an important element of the project for me.' - Participant from What's Your Story?
